PEEK ENHANCES MRI OPTIONS at PLASTICS ONE |
Driven by researchers needs and requests, we have added PEEK Cannulas to our MRI product line.
There are many advantages to using PEEK tubing.
- It has excellent abrasion and wear resistance.
- PEEK material is lightweight, biocompatible, and has exceptional chemical resistance.
- MRI Cannulas made with PEEK are steam autoclavable at temperatures in excess of 250°C (482°F).
- Some assembly advantages are that it can easily be cut with a razor blade and can be bonded with
epoxies and cyanoacrylates.
Radiotranslucent PEEK components allow a researcher to MRI images producing no artifact in the image.
It adds a second dimension in that it enables the simultaneous collection of MRI images during infusion
along with the collection of electrophysiological data using other Plastics One MRI compatible electrode systems.
