Electrode Systems Catalog
The Electrodes are made with stainless steel for traditional studies, and platinum or tungsten for use in MRI studies. They are made in standard channel configurations or can be custom designed. Some of their standard configurations include: 2, 3, 6, and 12 Channels. The 6 Channel System allows the researcher to choose 6 custom, individual electrodes to create an entirely unique system. PlasticsOne Customer Service also accommodates researcher designed parts as well as being available to help design other custom configurations.
The custom designed Cables are specifically made to fit the Electrodes in all channel and material options. Since they are custom, they are made to uniquely fit each researcherís needs and requirements. Our Cables are used between the electrode and the commutator, or between the electrode and the data acquisition devices or neural stimulation devices. We offer many different plug terminations to fit seamlessly with these devices, and can also used customer supplied plug terminations. One of the option offerings is a stainless steel spring and a stainless steel mesh covering to minimize damage from other animals while being housed together during the research study. Cable lengths can be personalized also.
The PlasticsOne Electrode System also offers researchers their custom designed Commutators, also known as Electrical Swivels. When behavioral studies require the animal to be unrestricted in its movement, a commutator is used. With an interior opening in the center, it allows the researcher to join fluid or optogenetic studies with the use of the commutator. They have multiple channel offerings that will meet each researcherís experimentation needs. Their commutators are low noise and environmentally safe, and are made with a double brush and ring system to assure electrical continuity. We also offers a single brush commutator for use in mice or other small animals to reduce torque.
