The Guide is an implanted hollow stainless steel tube which guides a fiber to a specific site.
When not illuminating through the guide, a Cannula Dummy (Stylet/Obturator) can be inserted to prevent tissue entry in the bottom of the guide.

The Housing is a molded plastic piece. It is glued onto the fiber with an epoxy which then allows the fiber to be secured in place.

The Cap is a molded threaded plastic piece, when used in conjuction with the housing, secures the housing to the guide cannula when ready to activate your fiber.

The single optogenetics system allows for exact placement of a cannula to your site of experimentation.

New! We now offer tungsten electrodes.

Two insulated platinum iridium or tungsten wire electrodes extend below a threaded cylindrical molded plastic pedestal. The electrodes are individually insulated and are supplied twisted or untwisted. The socket contacts inside the pedestal are made of copper. The threaded plastic pedestal accepts the captive collar of the 305C plug of the connector cable. The pedestal is secured with dental cement and mounting screws.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee straightness of the wire for the MS303/9C-B/SPC or MS303/9C-A/SPC.

Three insulated platinum iridium or tungsten wire electrodes, made with copper socket contacts, extend below a threaded cylindrical molded plastic pedestal.
The pedestal is secured with dental cement and mounting screws.
The color of the insulation may vary.

Mates with 335C cables.

The electrodes can be:
-untwisted (Option A),
-two electrodes can be twisted together (Option B),
-or all three electrodes can be twisted together (Option C).

A Dacron mesh option is also available if needed as an attachment to the electrode pedestal.

New! We now offer tungsten electrodes.

These electrodes are made with various wire and insulation materials. Each electrode is terminated with a female socket contact that inserts into the Electrode Pedestal. Electrode lengths are measured from bottom of socket contact to tip of wire.

Electrodes can also be supplied twisted together; add "-2TW" to part number.
